Our magical week in May

Every year we celebrate the magical week in May that began with our first date….a few days later we were boyfriend and girlfriend, and by the end of the week we were engaged to be married. 

This is the second major anniversary that we celebrate each year….the first is March 12th, when we met at a dance.  And our third anniversary is July 28th, when we made promises to each other, said our vows, and became husband and wife for all eternity.

But our magical week in May is so very special, that every month we relive each and every day of that week in May. 

It was truly a whirlwind romance…..we became dance partners, went out to dinner and to a dance where we danced together until midnight—a true Cinderella story.  

During this week we made dinner together, watched the movie, “Shall We Dance,” sent a video of us dancing to our families, spent a whole afternoon talking for hours at Ebey’s Landing on Whidbey Island, where we had the first photo taken of us.  We also introduced each other to several of our children and grandchildren. 

And we became engaged.

We were in love, truly in love, were together every minute.  We started our life together.

So today, we once again celebrated the birth of…..us.

Today and every day is a magical day. 

Fourteen years together and we are even more in love.  We are inseparable.  We have discovered that our love thrives and grows like the oak and pine trees that surround our mountain cabin and the beautiful flowers that blossom in our gardens at Nuestra Casa.

Our love grows richer and stronger each day….year by year.  It grows and flourishes in the beauty of our family.  And in our dreams for our grandchildren as we share in their joy and wonder in the world that surrounds them and all of us.
