BEAR in our yard: We're SO excited!
We've now had a bear and a mountain lion in our yard.
We also had a Javelina last night, but we get those frequently. But this is the first time ever that a bear visited us at our cabin!
One more item off of our bucket list….

We have had 100,000 views on one of our dancing Youtube videos
That's not a typo. About 2 1/2 years ago we thought it would be fun to post videos of us dancing to the oldies on Youtube. We've kept at it, although we are close to running out of oldies (and we don't care for newsies....is that a word?).
We have 850ish videos on our "channel." (something else we could never have anticipated when we were kids......having our own "channel").Our "channel" doesn't accept advertising (gross), so the algorithms that are used for Youtube don't direct people to our channel very often, although we have to admit we have never seen another channel of old baby boomers like us dancing to the golden oldies.........so maybe we really are special (too bad our moms aren't around to ask).
The heck with that woman in the jeans (drawing a blank on her name at the moment because we've never heard of her and are too lazy to look up her name). That requires no talent, does it? She's probably so envious of us.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of competition for us. We wonder why....hmmmm. Don't a lot of people wake up every morning and say "I'd like to watch two old people dancing to songs that had been forgotten for at least 30 years before I was born?"
We often will get in the hundreds of views for our dances, and have several with over a thousand views
But this song by Roy Orbison is special. It is a special song by the most awesome male singer ever. He had a voice with range and power, and wrote many good songs.
He also had a tragic life. Lost his wife when they were cycling and someone opened a car door. Lost two children in a house fire. And then lost his own life at age 52 to a heart attack. He had been a heavy smoker, and refused to give that up, probably costing him his life. Please, people if you are a smoker stop today! If you do, we'll dedicate a dance to you sometime in the next few weeks. Promise.
So, what we want to know is if these 100,000 views now make us now officially "influencers" (whatever those are) Does anybody know? And will we be invited to go on Joe Rogan's podcast (see! We're modern! We're not old! We even know Joe Rogan, although have never listened to him). And we know what podcasts are......we have listened to all of darling daughter Candice's podcasts, so have learned. Have we gone "viral?" Hope not...we've had all of our vaccinations.
So, here it is. Our video with 100,000 views. Please watch it, and we can start on the next 100,000!

How we found out that we have a new grand baby on the way….
Our granddaughter, Hannah, who turned five a few months ago called us for the first time ever on our 14th wedding anniversary. The first thing we heard was, “Hi, this is Hannah.” She let us know that Mama and Papa took little Robert (who will be one tomorrow) and were gone to get roofing for the cabin that Owen is building.
We asked how she was able to call us. Her family has been staying with Aunt Rachelle, Uncle Ryan, and her cousins for “two churches.” This means two weeks in five-year-old language. Since Hannah had heard her cousin, Alden, talking to us a half hour before, she simply asked Alden to show her how to call Grandma and Grandpa.
The next thing she said (out of the blue) was, “Mama has a baby and it isn’t Robert. It might be a sister or a brother. It is much smaller than Robert. It is very tiny….only as big as my little fingernail. The baby doesn’t have a name yet, but if it’s a sister, it might be Margaret. Margaret is a very pretty name.”
Hannah, Vernon, and baby Robert:
This will be our 15th grandchild. And it was a delightful Anniversary present!
