Here is a slide show of our funky community of Pine and Strawberry, AZ.
For the past two years Dan and I have been walking, hiking, and cycling all over the small mountain towns of Pine-Strawberry. This is where we bought our lag cabin in the fall of 2021. We immediately noticed that there is something unique, funny, and interesting in these beautiful little towns that are nestled 2000’ below the Mogollon Rim.
No two homes are alike. Everyone has decorated their home and property with their own individual taste (or maybe lack of taste). It is all in fun. Everyone is super friendly. Neighbors help out neighbors, even when help is not asked for. But, luckily, no one seems to be looking for a new best friend. Just helpful and friendly……”Good morning, it’s a beautiful day, goodbye.”
It’s a haven for Dan. Old Man jokes abound and are fully appreciated. He can’t make a joke without one being thrown right back at us. It’s all in fun and often quite witty.
We have seen things here that we have not seen in all our road trips and 55,000+ miles of traveling around the USA—all over the west, southwest, through the midwest to the tip of Florida, back along the gulf of Mexico, slogging through the expanse of Texas, and to our lovely state of Arizona. Never have we experienced what we have seen and felt in Pine-Strawberry.
And we simply love living in Pine, Arizona!
