Mushrooms, not flowers

I cannot help but stop to take a photo of each beautiful flower that I see as we hike or cycle. And Dan cannot help but stop to take a photo of me taking a a picture of my beautiful flowers.  He enjoys my flower hobby.

But the monsoon rains have brought out a new treat, that both Dan and I are in awe of….an amazing array of mushrooms!

This beauty looks like a lemon meringue pie hidden in the forest!

We spied some of the biggest mushrooms either of us had ever seen.  Look at them compared to the 3” end of my hiking pole!

And here is the Graybill World Record Largest Mushroom Ever—over 8” in diameter!

Dan found the award winning, first place prize, mushroom of all time!

Isn’t it a beauty?  It looks like something out of a children’s book.  We can just see all the little fairies dancing around it.

Look closely, and you will see them too.
