Walking in Fields of Gold: Oglala National Grasslands, NE


We have been in this northwestern corner of Nebraska eight days now.  We have hiked along roads and through endless fields of grass.  When we do I frequently think of Eva Cassidy's rendition of Sting's Fields of Gold.   If you are not familiar with this version of the song, I recommend you check it out on the link provided.  Haunting and beautiful, sung by Eva Cassidy who died much too young, (age 33) before she was even discovered as an incredible talent.  Sad.

We moved today to our third site on these Grasslands.  The weather here is unusually warm for this time of year, so we are in no hurry to move south.

Today we passed 200 miles of hiking on Road Trip 6.
