We came face to face with some visitors at our cabin….we’re not sure who was more startled!
Hiking on Mountain as the sun rose, we had a pair of miniature coues deer come out to enjoy the forest with us….
Mid- afternoon, Mama elk put her babies down for a nap in our yard under the pine trees near our cabin. We promised Mama to keep an eye on them as we read and knitted on our porch.
We live over a mile high in a Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a special protected hamlet surrounded by high desert mountains and National Forests. Thank you to all the elk, mountain lions, raccoon, coyotes, foxes, javelina, deer, bears, and all the other critters that let us share their daily lives.
