We say goodbye to the Quail

Four years ago Santa brought us our wee little teardrop camper, the Quail, for an early Christmas present.

We used the Quail to camp and hike in several spectacular areas that we hadn’t been able to reach with the Turtle (our truck/camper).

And we found the quiet solitude that we seek….just us together in our beloved desert, with only the birds and wild animals for companions.

But time marched on, we bought our dear mountain cabin, and our bodies got older and more temperamental.  The little 4’x 6’ interior of the Quail no longer seemed an appealing place to spend days on end.  We realized that three years had passed since we had used the Quail.

We now want (and need) the comfort of our homes, Nuestra Casa and the cabin.  When we head out on a camping trip, we inevitably choose the familiarity and comfort of our sweet Turtle.

Fortuitously, it just so happened that a neighbor of ours stopped by our cabin in Pine a few months ago and asked if we were interested in selling the Quail.

So this Christmas we got to be Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus….the Quail was once again an early Christmas present.  It was sad to say goodbye to the Quail, but Mike and Pam said we can visit the Quail any time we want to---after all, it will now live less than a block from our cabin.

And as you can see, Mike and Pam are so very happy about their early Christmas present!
