Summer Project #4: Doors and woodwork

One of our goals for the summer was to replace four of our outside doors and paint all of our inside ones.

A big project.

First step was deciding which doors to replace.  We decided that one of the outside doors looked fine and was relatively tight, one looked fine but needed repainting, and the other four were awful.

Bad doors:

New doors:

Vicky did all of the painting of the interior doors.  There were 11 of them--a big project when each side required two coats.

Interior doors:

Vicky also repainted all of the interior woodwork:

The back door looked OK, but (badly) needed repainting:

Another part of the project was replacing all of the exterior door knobs and locks so they would match the ones on the inside of the house.  Looks a lot better.

Everything looks so nice and fresh now inside.  All doors in the house except two have been replaced and painted, and one of those has been repainted.  All woodwork is repainted.  We still have some more house projects on our list, but I expect they will wait until next year.  We've done enough this year on our nest.
