Cactus Blossom Mine Hike: Joshua Tree National Park

February 6, 2014

We found this old mine on our way to the Eldorado Mine.  We had been to the Eldorado Mine last year, so knew the route.  But last year, as one can do in the desert, we probably were a few too many feet away to see this place.

We were pleased because we have seen no record of it in any hiking books.  And it has an unusual name—most mines are “male” names, but this one is very feminine.

The mine is located on the map below at the spot 0063. You can also see the relationship of it to El Dorado Mine and the Silver Bell Mine (which is visible from the Pinto Basin Road).
