Vicky and Dan World Cycling Record.....5000 miles in 2023!

 A new Vicky and Dan Cycling World Record!

And we did most of these miles at night….in the wee hours before dawn.

Okay, so we weren’t actually wearing our pj’s during our nighttime cycling, but we did cycle a few of the 5.000 miles together on our beloved tandem bike, Daisy.

Here is a glimpse of the 179 bike rides that we took this year…..

Cycling at night in Leisure World, where we have cycled most of our miles this year:

By the end of 2023, 112 of our bikes rides were a 50 K (32 miles) or more.  We did all of these 50 K’s at night on the streets and golf cart paths in Leisure World….that’s over 3,584 miles completed while doing our 50 K’s!

On the 55 mile Tucson Bike Loop with Candice during our Thanksgiving celebration:

In the small mountain towns of Pine-Strawberry:

On the Mogollon Rim, 2000 feet above our cabin in Pine (and only 13 miles away).

Our final ride over the finish line of 5,000 miles…..in the pouring rain.  We certainly earned our Vicky and Dan World Cycling Record of 5,000 miles in 2023!
