47 years ago today, July 4, 1976

My wife, and another woman, were the first two female police officers in the history of the Seattle Police Department to work together in a patrol car in Seattle.

While on patrol they were called out to go to a car accident.  When they got to the site, there were dead bodies strewn all over the pavement.

Policing is a different world.  No one can do it without it affecting them, changing them.  All of these years later she remembers this incident so vividly.  On our mountain hike this morning, she talked, again, about it.  47 years later.
