Grandma’s Garden: Amazing blossoms at Nuestra Casa

We love sitting out on the front and back patios at our home.  That is where you can find us every morning and afternoon when we are not out camping and hiking in our lovely desert.

Every day is like spring.  We have created gardens that totally surround our home.  There are orange trees, a lemon tree, succulents, cacti, vines, and shrubs.

And almost every plant in our garden blossoms, and most of our plants have flowers on them spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Our gardens are a work of art and we love them!

The flowing green expanse of the golf fairway at hole 8 surrounded by ancient eucalyptus trees and our magnificent flower gardens are what we see when we sit together on our patio.  And since the back of Nuestra Casa is virtually all windows and sliding glass doors, we get to enjoy the same view when we are inside of our home!

We decided not to have a wall enclose our front patio.  Instead we created a wall of flowering trees and shrubs.  This gives us complete privacy and stunning beauty when we are relaxing on our front patio.

Each of these photos is a different variety of a plant or cactus, and, amazingly, they all live in our gardens.  This is our very own little Garden of Eden!

Our yard is filled with different birds.  And there are always several hummingbirds buzzing around us and our flowers. We specifically planted plants whose blossoms attract hummingbirds.

Can you find Ana, one of our friendly little hummingbirds that visits us often?

Here she is!

Look at the little green heart in the center of this cactus blossom.  Isn’t it precious?

This is the sweet little fountain that Dan gave me on the day we moved into Nuestra Casa. It is home-made, very old.
