Final preparations for Saturday's STP

Since we got home from Road Trip 6 we have either cycled on the trainers or on roads for over 165 hours, which is almost 7 24-hour days.  Doing that requires a lot of discipline to be consistent.

This 165 hours means we have gotten onto our bikes over 110 times.

We have had a blast.

Now we are in our final stage of preparation--clothes, food, gear, etc..

We have rested a week to allow everything to heal up (longer than we have in the past, but our bodies require more rest time the older we get).

Tomorrow we head to Seattle to stay with Jules, Jessica, Ian and Adam.  Vicky and I will head out very early (in the dark) on Saturday morning with Jules, for our sixth time we have ridden to Portland with him.  How special is that?

We are so excited.  We have worked very hard so that this ride will be fun.  We don't want to get to Portland all used up.  We want to get there with energy to spare.  If we do, then we will enjoy the process.  We can't wait to cross that finish line.

We are very fortunate that, in our late 60s, we can still do something like this.  It feels like we are blessed.
