We left home 8 1/2 weeks ago. It's about time for a shower, we thought. I mean, why not?
We arrived at Twentynine Palms, California, yesterday and took care of all manner of business--grocery shopping, filling up with propane, filling up with water, emptying trash, and doing laundry. I also saw a Doc-in-a-box because I had an ear infection--a 2-year-old's problem in a 67-year-man (as Mr. Universe would say: "how weird is that?").
And, last but not least, and in fact first, was being able to take an honest to goodness shower. Not once a week from a shower bag as we have been doing on those days when it is (1) warm enough (2) sunny enough, and (3) not too windy.
The county sheriff came by our place last week and said he had been getting complaints about an odor, and asked if we had noticed anything that could explain it. We said, with honest looks on our honest faces, "no."
Ahhhhhhh. A real shower!
