Vicky makes mom's noodles

Vicky made my mother's specialty--home made noodles.  She couldn't be there to celebrate with us, but the noodles made it feel as if she was actually there.

Every year, every special occasion, my mother made her noodles.  She prepared them with such care.  They were a family treasure.

When we went to Mesa for my mother's birthday, Vicky asked for her recipe.   Vicky had heard about them, so she gave Vicky a step by step recipe for them.  They aren't easy.  Yo can't knead the dough too much, or they end up being hard.

I can remember watching my mother carefully cutting the noodles so very thin.  That made a big difference also.
