Doing another "STP"...and this time with the whole family from Seattle, Fort Collins, and Georgia!!!! Wahoo!!!

We thought that the 2018 STP would be our final one.  We could tell that no matter how fast we cycled, age was catching up to us.  At first age was a tiny spot on the horizon behind us, but over time it grew larger and larger.  Until finally it was like a huge Caterpillar Truck looming behind us.  Ok, age.  You win.  We'll stop.

It was with great sadness we acknowledged this.  For 7 years we had done this ride from Seattle to Portland with Jules.  And it meant so much to us, doing this with him.   Who has this kind of experience?  It is rare.  And once I got to do it with Jules and Sean.

So during weekend of the 2019 STP instead of cycling to Portland we spent the time packing to move to Mesa.....to Nuestra Casa.

Then, this year, because of Covid-19, the Cascade Bicycle Club had to shut down all of its rides.

And, like with other clever businesses and organizations, they created a "virtual" STP.

So, like the Gene Autry song,  we are back in the saddle again!

We are actually still not done with the virtual Race Across America, but that's no problem.  We'll divide our miles, and will do the 200 miles for the STP without counting them also for the Race Across America.  After all, if we let them count for two races, that would be CHEATING!!!  And, personally, if we're going to cheat it's going to be with performance enhancing drugs, or eating nothing but ice cream, not counting miles twice for two virtual races.

Our team, Jules, Diane, Ian, Adam, Bill, Emily, Sean, Soren, Sebastian and us, will "leave" Seattle this coming Saturday.

We can't wait!

See you all in Portland!
