This spring Stella and Marina came over and we spent many lazy happy days together.
Our first visit was soon after we returned home from Roadtrip 4 and we celebrated Marina’s birthday and they spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa’s home. We had carrot birthday cupcakes, as Marina had requested them. She said that she wanted something “healthy” (huh....she is only nine years old). But even though my carrot cake is healthy and filled with carrots, applesauce, and walnuts it is delicious! Grandpa also requests it every year for his birthday.
Marina and Grandpa looking very happy. Marina is wearing the hat that I knitted for her birthday present:

Our clever granddaughters quickly learned how to weave hot-pads. They made several and are going to give for presents to their dad and their mom.
One day Marina and Stella wanted to make pretty pillowcases for their beds at our home, so they started their very first sewing project! They are going to be good seamstresses. The pillowcases turned out perfect and looked beautiful.
They spent another afternoon making necklaces. Here they are proudly modeling them for Grandpa and me:
Marina, Stella, and I planted all of our spring flower pots and hanging baskets. It has become a tradition for them to spend a day with us every spring planting bright and beautiful flowers while Grandpa takes our picture:
What a special time we have had with these precious girls!
